Two Weeks Down...Here We Come Costa Rica!
Outreach in Mexico City is complete! Here's what we've been up to the last two weeks:
- So many drama performances! To date we've performed our dramas eleven times (not counting practices). One time we even got to perform "The Clincher" drama at a government function.
- Ran out of water in the cistern, showers were spotty the first couple of days. Finally figured out a pipe in the downstairs bathroom was leaking out water. Kind of a relief to realize we weren't the ones using it all up.
- We tried raspadas, pig skin, rompope, suadero tacos, and a number of us got sick along the way. Super exciting...
- Got to use my camp counselor skills (yay Scream!) on the kids here and it was a blast! Love leading songs and games for the kids.
- Intersession and worship nonstop. I've been learning a lot of the Spanish worship songs by memory so that we can go out without having to lug around the song binder.

- Met so many amazing people! My childhood memory doesn't do it justice, Mexicans are the MOST HOSPITABLE people I have ever met.
- Kids ministry, youth ministry, red-light district ministry, the list goes on and on.
- Embarrassing bike tour through the city as literally everyone in existence stopped to stare at the gringos making their way downtown.
- Earthquake last night! Except not really...the alarm went off, we got up, went outside, then went back to sleep twenty minutes later after zero quakes. Less dramatic than you'd imagine.
- So much growth as a group and as a team! We're super excited to start our six weeks in Costa Rica, now that we've had a taste of the floor-sleeping-diarrhea-inducing-God-filled mix that is outreach.
